Since the founding of Conservative Friends of Bangladesh 13 years ago, I have led 5 visits to Bangladesh with Conservative Parliamentarians and activists.
Conservative Friends of Bangladesh - Project Shapla 2019 On 13th September 2019, the Conservative Friends of Bangladesh (CFOB) is leading its 5th social action project to Bangladesh. The team will be visiting Dhaka and Sylhet for one week until Friday 20th September 2019.
‘Friends of’ groups provide our Party with magnificent support in a number of ways, from campaigning and
supporting our Councillors, MPs and candidates, to raising important issues and making sure that matters which
disproportionately affect communities are at the top of the Party’s agenda.
The CFOB held its annual gala fundraising dinner in Kensington on 17th July. The event was oversubscribed with nearly 300 members in attendance, the largest ever gathering in its 12-year history.
Anne Main is MP for St Albans and is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Bangladesh and the newly formed APPG on the Rights of the Rohingya. She is also President of the Conservative Friends of Bangladesh.
Conservative Friends of Bangladesh's Project Shapla gets underway in September 2017. Project Shapla will be the fourth Conservative Friends of Bangladesh (CFoB) trip to Bangladesh since the group’s formation in 2006.
